Volunteers, an Essential Part of the Hospice Team

Volunteering at Community Hospice is a special type of giving – no task is too big or too small. Our volunteers provide a steady source of comfort and strength to our terminally ill patients and their families.

Community Hospice volunteers come from all walks of life and give as much or as little time as their schedules permit.  If you are interested in becoming a hospice volunteer, there is a place for you at Community Hospice.

Come join the team of Community Hospice volunteers! Community Hospice has a diverse group of people who share their time and talents with our patients, families and our organization.  There is a particular need at this time for those interested in serving as a greeter/receptionist at the Care Center in the evenings and on the weekends. We are always seeking volunteers to help with a variety of other duties that includes:

  • Visitation with patients

  • Volunteer Spiritual Care

  • Caregivers’ Time Away

  • Home Alone Support

  • Nursing Home Visitation

  • Veterans-to-Veterans Visits

  • Care Center and Office Clerical Support

Volunteers determine when and how much time they can provide - some a few hours a week, others just a few hours a month.  For more information contact Andrea Arnett, Director of Volunteer Services, at 606-329-1890, 740-532-8841, 606-297-1095, or
