What is Hospice?
Hospice is healthcare that provides physical, emotional, and spiritual support for patients with life-limiting illnesses, as well as caring for the needs of the patient’s entire family.
Hospice makes it possible for patients to live and die with dignity. Hospice care:

Community Hospice, Inc. is an independent, nonprofit organization meeting the needs of residents in Boyd, Carter, Elliott, Greenup, Johnson, Lawrence, and Martin counties in Kentucky and Lawrence and Scioto counties in Ohio. We provide comprehensive hospice care with a commitment to excellence, compassion, and dignity. As a Medicare and Medicaid-certified hospice licensed in both Kentucky and Ohio, we are proud to offer trusted care that meets the highest standards. From the comfort of your own home to the support of our inpatient Care Center, Community Hospice offers a full range of services designed to care for patients and families with skill and compassion.
Hospice Care Center
When staying home is not possible, our fifteen-bed inpatient facility provides expert pain management, round-the-clock support, and dignified end-of-life care in a warm, welcoming environment.
Levels of Care
From short-term inpatient care to respite services for family caregivers, we meet patients wherever they are with the right level of support at the right time.
Hospice Services
Whether at home, in a nursing facility, or at our Care Center, our team provides skilled, compassionate care for patients and families facing life-limiting illness.
Palliative Care Services
For patients with chronic life-limiting illness, palliative care focuses on symptom management and comfort — at home or in a long-term care facility, without requiring a physician's referral.
Bereavement Services
Grief does not follow a schedule. Our counseling, support groups, and programs are available free of charge to anyone in the community who has experienced a loss.
