About
We Honor Veterans

The service and sacrifice of our nation’s veterans deserve to be recognized and remembered, not only throughout their lives, but especially at the end of life.

At Community Hospice, we are committed to providing compassionate care to honor each veteran’s unique experiences, values, and service. We understand  military service can shape a person in meaningful ways, and we strive to create opportunities for connection, recognition, reflection, and gratitude.

Through moments of appreciation, specialized support, and a deep respect for each veteran’s journey, we help ensure those who served our country feel seen, valued, and honored.

Serving Those Who Served Our Country

Community Hospice has long been committed to recognizing and supporting veterans and their families through compassionate, personalized end-of-life care. For many years, we were proud to participate in the We Honor Veterans program and achieved the highest level of recognition through that program, Level 5, by completing extensive requirements centered on veteran education, awareness, and support.

That experience strengthened our understanding of the unique experiences, challenges, and needs that military service can bring to end-of-life care. Through that work, we developed meaningful traditions and services that became an important part of how we care for veterans and their families.

As program requirements have evolved, Community Hospice has chosen to build upon that foundation by creating and expanding our own veteran recognition initiative, allowing us to continue serving veterans in ways that reflect the needs of our local communities and the values of our organization.

Today, our commitment remains stronger than ever. We continue to educate our staff about veteran-specific issues, connect veterans through peer support and volunteer opportunities, recognize service through meaningful ceremonies and presentations, assist families in accessing available military benefits and honors, and provide specialized support throughout the hospice journey.

We believe every veteran’s story deserves to be acknowledged, every sacrifice deserves gratitude, and every person who served deserves care delivered with dignity, compassion, and respect.

Community Hospice is honored to serve veterans every day of the year.
