About Community Hospice

Caring for People of All Ages

Community Hospice care is designed to alleviate pain and control the symptoms of disease with skill and compassion for patients with any terminal condition, not just cancer. It is our belief that people do not need hospice to die, but rather to complete their life.

Community Hospice offers special expertise in pain control and symptom management, as well as the psychosocial and spiritual issues related to a terminal illness.
Services provided to patients and their families include:

Homecare: Hospice is where you are, in your home, retirement center or nursing home. Hospice employees visit routinely to give care, answer questions, teach new and important skills, and make each day as full of life as possible. In addition, professional staff are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for special needs.

Inpatient Care: Not everyone can remain at home when facing a life limiting illness. Some people live with loved ones who are unable to care for them or their care may require professional nursing skills on a 24 hour basis. Our Hospice Care Center is neither a hospital that seeks to cure, nor a nursing home that seeks to maintain or rehabilitate. It is a hospice center, a place to receive comfort during the last phases of life.

Bereavement Care: Support groups, individual counseling, educational opportunities, and information on other resources are all part of the hospice bereavement program for both adults and children. The hospice commitment to loved ones continues for a minimum of a year after the death of a loved one. Bereavement Services are available to anyone, not just those served by hospice.
